I’ve been noticing a new trend in wedding centerpieces lately.  Orchid centerpieces.  They are beautiful, exotic, and come in many different types and colors.  What many brides are doing is simply purchasing a tall clear vase (any shape will do, however most popular in the square vase), and placing a single orchid stem into it.  Each orchid stem will have several blooms and is so gorgeous that it doesn’t need much else.  If you’d like to spice it up a bit, you can always use a little water (colored or clear) in the bottom, or even rocks/stones.

If that’s not enough pizzazz for you — go one step further and “top off” your orchid centerpiece with a lamp shade.  Yes, a lamp shade.  Also one the newest wedding centerpieces trends.  Not convinced?  Check out this orchid centerpiece with a lamp shade:
